Evangelism: How God has Commanded His People to Evangelize
Objective 1. Evangelism: What is it and Why do it?
What is Evangelism?
Evangelism: is the proclamation and teaching of the Good News of the Kingdom of God to the deadfuly sinful unconverted (Ephesians 2:1-3, Romans 15:14-21, Mark 1:14-15, Matthew 28:18-20), urging them to repent and believe in Christ the Lord (Acts 2:38-39, 20:21, Ephesians 6:18-19), henceforth obeying Him as King in the collaboration of a local church (Ephesians 3:8-10, Matthew 28:18-20, 1 Timothy 3:14-15).
Why do Evangelism?
God is the Almighty, Holy, and all Glorious Lord and Creator, who made every man, woman, child, and all creation to worship, glorify, and obey Him (Isiah 40:12-20, 1 Peter 1:16, 1 Chronicles 16:23-31, Matthew 28:20), being executed by Christ the Lord, building His Kingdom and conquering His enemies (Psalm 2, 110, 1 Corinthians 15:24-28, Hebrews 1:1-13), by which He is bringing into the church all of the elect from every language, tribe, nation, and people (Ephesians 1:3-14, Isiah 2:1-4, Revelation 5:9,7:9), in the nature of the church obeyingly discipling, baptizing, and teaching them to obey everything the Lord has commanded (Matthew 28:18-20, 24:14, Psalm 96:3, Micah 4:1-5, Acts 4:31).
Objective 2. Evangelism: God’s Standard of Proclaiming the Gospel
When is the last time that you shared the gospel with someone? Do you share the gospel on a regular basis? Why haven’t you shared the gospel with someone recently? These are problems that must be addressed. Today, we will look at God’s method of evangelism.
Acts 4:23 When they had been released, they went to their own and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.
24 And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, “O Lord, it is You who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them,
25 who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said,‘Why did the Gentiles rage, And the peoples devise futile things?
26 The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered togetherAgainst the Lord and against His Christ.’
27 For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,
28 to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined to occur.
29 And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence,
30 while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.”
31 And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.
The Exposition of the Text
The context of these verses is right after Peter and John evangelized at the Temple, and as they spoke the Temple priest and Guard came and arrested them. In their efforts of evangelizing a great multitude of about 2,000 repented and came to Christ (Acts 3:1-4:4). On the following day, the governors, scribes, and the High Priest of Jerusalem gathered together and had a legal trial of Peter and John. During the trial Peter proclaimed the gospel boldly. The governors charged Peter and John not to speak or teach anything concerning Jesus, then Peter and John answered and said that they would continue to proclaim the gospel, since God is above all governments and must be obeyed (Acts 4:4-22).
Purpose 1. Collaboratory Worship
Acts 4:23 "When they had been released, they went to their own and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them."
As soon as Peter and John were released, the verse literally says, “They went to their own”. That is, that they went to the church. This is the greatest step in evangelism, because without gathering with the church a person will not evangelize. God is absolutely holy, and He is to be worshipped by all nations, languages, peoples, and families (Isiah 12). To worship means that you exalt God as Absolute Lord, and that you draw near to him in great reverence, fear, boldness, lovingly from a pure heart that you have confessed your sins to Him and know that you have been freed from them because of the Lord Jesus substitutionary atonement on the cross (Exodus 20:1-20, Hebrews 10:19-22, Matthew 5:2-11). You also must worship the Lord in obedience to His Law, love is acting righteous on unto another and showing the proper affections for the moment, thus, to worship God is to obey Him as He has commanded in His Word, not as will-worshippers who make up their own ways to worship God (Matthew 28:16-20, Mark 7:1-13, 1 Corinthians 13:4-7). God demands that He be worshipped in every area of life by everyone (1 Corinthians 10:31). However, for His church He gives three explicit jurisdictions where He is to be worshipped.
1. The first jurisdiction is private worship. Private worship is done by getting alone with God, as early as possible when you wake up because your private worship affects the rest of your day, and you should also cut time out in the evenings to get alone with the Lord (Psalm 63). Your private worship should consist of several things, you should have a good amount of prayer that is concentrated on glorifying God, building His Kingdom, repenting of sins, and thanking God for the forgiveness of your sins and providing for your daily needs (Matthew 6:9-13). Secondly, your private worship should consist of singing praises to God, you can sing the Psalms, Hymns if you have them, and even on your phone or computer if you have praise songs on there (Psalm 105:1-6). Thirdly, you should be studying and ruminating on God’s Word, so that you have it hidden within you in order that you love, obey, exalt, and not sin against Him (John 8:31-32).
2. The second jurisdiction God must be worshipped in is the family. There is one cause of the decay of godliness in our day which must be taught again and earnestly exhorted to be reestablished, and that is the neglect of the worship of God in families by those to whom the charge and conduct of them is committed. God has charged parents to instruct their children in the Lord, however God has charged husbands and fathers supremely to train their families in the Lord (Ephesians 6:4, 5:22-30, Deuteronomy 11:18-21). Family Worship- - is the gathering of a household at a certain time, being led by the husband/father as a time for him to teach his family the Word of God, praying together as a family for each other, the church, and the world, and lastly singing praises to the Lord together (Joshua 24:15).
3. The third jurisdiction the Lord commands to be worshipped is which our text speaks on, and that is the collective worship of God’s people in a local congregation (Hebrews 10:23-25). This the Lord mandated in the 4th Commandment which says Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days shall you labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore, the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy (Exodus 20: 8-11). What does God require in obedience to the 4th Commandment? He requires all men to sanctify or set apart to God the day that He has established in His Word, and specifically one whole day out of every seven. This was the seventh day from the beginning of creation unto the resurrection of Christ, and the first day of the week ever since. It will continue that way until the end of the world. This is the Christian Sabbath, which is known as the Lord’s Day (1 Corinthians 16:1-2, Acts 20:7, Matthew 5:17-18).
How does God command the Lord’s Day to be obeyed? The people of God are to obey the Lord’s Day by holy resting the whole day, not just from doing things that are inherently sinful at any time, but even from worldly activities and recreations that are lawful on other days. That entails that all of our work is to be done in six days prior to the Lord’s Day. The Lord’s Day is to be wholly committed to His worship. Everything that does not pertain to the public worship or private worship of God is forbidden on the Lord’s Day. Except for necessary works or acts of mercy; these works are taking care of your family, taking care of those you see or hear who are in some kind of desperate need. God’s people should joyfully spend all their time publicly and privately worshiping God. To that end, you must prepare our hearts and carefully plan ahead so that your business is taken care of beforehand in order that you may spend the day the way God requires, in complete worship of Him(Exodus 20:8,10; Exodus 16:25-29; Nehemiah 13:15-22, Jeremiah 17:21-22; Matthew 11:1-13, 12:1-14; Isiah 58:13,18, 66.23, Luke 4:16, Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:1-2, Psalm 92; Hebrews 10:24-25).
Application
1. Seek and worship the Lord with all your strength, and diligently study, ruminate, and pray God’s Word because the more of God’s Word you know the better you will be in evangelism (Psalm 19:7-14).
2. If you are not already beginning family worship, men take the lead as you are the shepherd of your family, and the family is like the church. Thus, God will hold you accountable at how well you discipled your wife and kids (Deuteronomy 11:18-21).
3. Gather every Lord’s Day with His people as He commands in His Word. Spend all of this day reading God’s Word or books that expound His Word. Pray with your brothers and sister, also spend much private time in prayer. Make sure the whole day is spent worshipping God, and put off working unless it is something that cannot wait or you are helping someone in great need (Deuteronomy 5:12-15).
Without you gathering with the church and in family and private worship, you will not be equipped to share the gospel, nor will you really have that desire to share the gospel.
Reported All that the Chief Priest and Elders Said to Them
Peter and John reported what the Chief Priest and elders said to them. That is them telling the Apostles not to teach in the name of Jesus, and that they were arrested and put in jail. They also spoke about the trial and threatenings from the rulers to not teach or proclaim anything about Christ, or if they did further punishments would happen.
This shows that church is collectively imamate with each other. This will be more clearly seen in the following verse. It shows that every person has a very important role in the church for the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom. Therefore, do not neglect to gather with God’s church on the Lord’s Day, since God commands us to exhort each other to love the Lord and our neighbors as He has directed in His Word. He also commands us to stir each other up do good works, which is bearing fruit through evangelism, holy living, instructing our children in the Lord, and all the other things the Lord commands us to do (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Purpose 2. Collaboratory Prayer
Acts 4:24 "And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, “O Lord, it is You who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them"
When Peter and John reported the church about their persecution experience, this greatly affected the church. The church heard with patience, and did not make any evil comments or statements concerning the Sanhedrin; and being, on the one hand, God’s people were not scared nor were they saddened, but on the other hand, not slothful, careless, not only thinking about living a comfortable easy life. They did not see to themselves avenge the Sanhedrin with plots, schemes, and treasons; nor did they take up weapons s to defend and avenge themselves, though their numbers were large; but to prayer, that they might not be deterred by threatenings, from speaking boldly the Word of the Lord. The churches prayer is focused on God’s Absolute Sovereignty over all things. The word for “Lord” here is not the usual word for Lord in the New Testament. That word is “κύριος”- kurios- meaning Lord or Master who is the head over people, and the people must obey him. However, the word used here in the church’s prayer is “δεσπότης”- despotēs- meaning someone having unrestricted power and absolute domination, confessing no limitations or restraints. The church knew that the Sanhedrin nor any government has total control, so they are confident in their evangelism because whatever happens to them is totally up to God, and His Kingdom will encompass the earth as He declared in His Word (Psalm 2:6-12). We see this all through their prayer as they proclaim that it was God Himself who predestined, controlled, and planned Christ’s crucifixion. They pray for boldness to speak God’s Word and for Him to perform miraculous signs for His glory and because they know nothing happens apart from His eternally predestined plan.
Prayer is of great necessity both before you go to do evangelism, while you are doing evangelism, and after you have done evangelism. We see these three all having taken place in chapters 2 through 4 of Acts. Remember, Prayer is an offering up of our petitions to God according to His Word and Will (Psalm 62:8, Matthew 6:10, 1 John 5:14), in the name of Christ (John 16:23, John 14:13-14, Colossians 3:17), by the help of His Spirit (Romans 8:26, Ephesians 6:18, Jude 1:20); with confession of our sins (Proverbs 28:13, Psalm 32:5), and thankful acknowledgment of His mercies, graces, and love (Philippians 4:6, Hebrews 4:16, Psalm 25:6-7). God commands us to pray both privately and collectively in His Word, and He tells us to pray for His church, kings/goverments, the lost, and for ourselves.
Application
1. Our first application is that we must pray together as a church. Find someone to regularly pray with, create a prayer group yourself, or join the 8:30 prayer time (Ephesians 6:18-21).
2. Men take charge and lead your family in prayer in more than meals and family worship, because prayer is one of the seeds to evangelism. Also, your wife and children look to you to lead them towards the Lord and holiness (1 Peter 3:7).
3. Spend at least 30 minutes in private prayer everyday, both morning and evening. Use the Lord’s Prayer as a model, because it covers all areas that we must pray for (Psalm 42:8)
Start by reverently sanctifying the Lord, then pray for the church to boldly preach the gospel and for the salvation of those whom are unconverted. Pray for evangelism opportunities.
Next pray to obediently do the Lord’s will of His commands.
After these, give thanks since the lord has provided for all your physical needs, then pray thankfully to the Lord because he has forgiven you.
Pray for strength in the midst of hard times so that you will not be led into temptation and sin, but for humble holiness before God and men.
Purpose 3. Evangelizing Together
Acts 4: 31 And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.
After the church prayed the place where they were was shook. This was God making it evident to them that He heard their prayers. Regularly, in Scripture these events are seen as a sign of God’s presence,(Exodus 19:18; Isaiah 6:4) are examples of this. Here it was intended to be linked with the filling of the Holy Spirit, and with the certainty that God was with them and had heard their prayer. It also means that Jerusalem, the nation of Israel, and the nations were to soon be shaken by the gospel, as Christ establishes His Kingdom, through the conquering of the nations, people groups and families of the earth (Isiah 25).
Secondly, the church was filled with the Holy Spirit. Being filled with the Holy Spirit means a greater working of Him to make the believer more holy through equipping him or her to do the present work that is before the believer. Being filled with the Spirit is not as the Pentecostals think, nor anyone else in the Charismatic movement, as they take the filling of the Spirit as in speaking in unknowable sounds, shacking, being drunk or slain in the Spirit, and many other things. But one of the main points is that being filled with the Holy Spirit in just about every place in Scripture is that it is a collective filling, and not solely an individual (Ephesians 5:18). The Lord gave His church His Spirit so that everyone will be conformed to the image of Christ, and in order that the church will love and obey God’s Law, just as the Holy Spirit Himself destroys all of our idols(Ezekiel 36:25-28).
One of the big idols that you and I have is the love of self. In the American church this is really fleshed out in the great lack of church members who regularly evangelize. Why do you think the church does not regularly evangelize? Why do you not regularly evangelize? For many here, I would say your reason is primarily one of two options or even both, option 1. You are scared of not knowing what to say and scared of offending people, thus feeling as if everyone is against you. The second option is that I think many would say they are to busy, or that while on the job it is frowned upon to not talk about politics, religion, race, or any other “controversial” type issues. What does God say concerning these things? Our verse answers this question, as you will see.
Speaking the Word of God in Boldness
As a result of the church being filled with the Holy Spirit, the church went speaking the Word of God in boldness. This implies three rules that God mandates in evangelism, 1. The church can only evangelize through the working of the Holy Spirit, 2. The church must go to where the unconverted are, and 3. The church must speak the Word of God in boldness.
Evangelism Through the Holy Spirit
Point 1. First, in God’s method of evangelism the Holy Spirit works in His church and upon the unconverted. He, the Holy Spirit works in His church by giving each member of Christ’s Body spiritual gifts that equip the church for its work of ministry to the unconverted and for the building up in the true knowledge of God, so that it will be holy and mature in Christ (Ephesians 4:11-14). The Holy Spirit gives His church boldness to proclaim God’s Word into every circumstance God places the church and believer in. In Matthew 10, Jesus gives one of the most amplified explanations of all the hostile situations the church will find itself in. In there the Lord speaks of Christians being delivered over to courts, beatings, dragged before kings and governors, families will hurt and betray the Christian, and martyrdom. The Lord tells His church then and now to have no fear of man, but these things happen so that God’s Word will be proclaimed and established in every jurisdiction of life, from the individual, to the family unit, to the civil magistrates in towns, cities, and nations (Matthew 10:18). The Lord also tells His church, that we are not to be anxious on what to say because the Holy Spirit gives us the words from God. Even though these verses in Matthew 10 directly speak about the Apostles and the God breathed Word of the Scripture, this directly applies to you and I because God commands us to have His Word dwell in us (Col 3:16), to abide in us (John 15:7-9), to have His Word stored up in our hearts, soul, in our houses, our hands, and everywhere we are (Deut 11:18).
Application
1. Study, memorize, and ruminate on God’s Word, since if you do not know what God says about any situation, question, or problem you are in, then you will not be able to evangelize and give a defense well (1 Peter 3:15).
2. By memorizing and proclaiming God’s Word, it is God who is speaking, not yourself because the Scripture is His Word and by it alone, He brings salvation, redemption, reconciliation, and repentance. Thus, He tells us in Romans 10:17- So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Therefore, you must let the Holy Spirit speak through you in His Word.
3. Do not fear men, governors, your family, or anything else when you are defending and proclaiming the gospel of God, but in prayer and boldness speak God’s Word (Ezekiel 3:1-3). J Gresham Machen, who was a Presbyterian pastor, says this- “God has always saved the church, not by theological pacifist but sturdy contenders for the truth.”
Going to the Unconverted
Point 2. Our text shows the second rule in God’s method of evangelism, and that is going to where the unconverted are. In order to speak the Word of God in boldness, the church had to go where the lost people were. In the book of Acts God shows us where we are to evangelize, the first place mentioned is in Acts 2. It is where Peter has his first sermon, this was somewhere in Jerusalem in the midst of the public. The following place mentioned in Acts is the Temple in Jerusalem, so not only was it a public place, but it was a religious place. This is found in the third chapter of Acts. In the fourth chapter we find Peter and John speaking in front of the Sanhedrin, as they are on trial before them. In regards to these three places, these are seen numerous times through Acts, such as Paul going to synagogues (Acts 14:1, 17:1-2), Paul speaking in Athens, Philippi with Lydia and the Jailer (Acts 16:11-40, Acts 17:16-34), then lastly Paul speaking at the Areopagus, Paul in front of the tribunal at Corinth (Acts 17:22, Acts 18:12). Other places that God shows evangelism is house to house (Acts 20:20), and in familial settings (Acts 16:32). What does this tell us about how to do evangelism? It tells us where we are to go to evangelize. It shows that evangelism is much bigger than just to our friends, neighbors, and children.
Application
1. God tells us that we should go to religious places of worship of other religions and cults, as Paul went to the synagogues and Areopagus (Acts 14, 17). This type of evangelism is probably different than what many of you are used to, and it is very contra-culture. Therefore, this evangelism will be a little tough to begin with, but I have and can get resources to help us evangelize to the cults and false religions. You and must begin going to Mosque, Synagogues, Hindu and Buddest Temples, Jehovah Witness and Mormon places of worship, and other false religious places of worship.
2. The second place that God commands us to evangelize is in the public square, like with Peter in Jerusalem and Paul in Ephesus (Acts 2, 20). This evangelism is quite similar to going to places of religious worship, being that they are both public spheres. The difference is that with this one, you will be facing many types religions, philosophies, and worldviews all at once. This evangelism is contra-cultural also, therefore be prepared to face much opposition, hate speech, and possibly persecution (Acts 20:17-24).
3. The third place God tells us to do evangelism is before our civil government officials. God shows that our evangelism here is not only to our local mayors and city councils, however it is to governors, senators, supreme court officials, and kings/presidents/ prime minsters of whole nations that God commands us to proclaim the gospel of His Kingdom to (Acts 24- 28). It is promised in several prophesies of the Old Testament that all kings and nations will worship the Lord (Psalm 2, 22; Isiah 2,11,42; Micah 4:1-4, Daniel 2:44-45, 7:27), and it is our vocation as the church to proclaim the gospel of Christ’s Kingdom as He establishes it among the nations.
4. The fourth place God commands us to share the gospel is house to house (Acts 20:22). Many of you are probably more familiar with this evangelism, and I am sure some of you have participated in door to door evangelism. This form of evangelism is a little easier than the others because people are somewhat more receptive, but for the most part this form of evangelism is one the church does not do much if any in the USA. It is known that the Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses do door to door evangelism, but their evangelism preaches a gospel of death, since it is a false gospel. Therefore, as true Christians and as God has commanded in His Word, we must take back this evangelism from the cults and begin doing our rightful duty of door to door evangelism.
5. The fifth and final type of evangelism is familial evangelism (Acts 16:32). In this evangelism is what you are probably most familiar with and probably do relatively often. This is the evangelism to our families, friends, co-workers, and others where we have much time to spend with them. In familial evangelism you act very hospitable to those whom God has ordained you to be with, but you also proclaim the gospel to them. This evangelism is a little less in your face evangelism than the others, however you still must proclaim the gospel fast in your relationships. Also, another name for this evangelism is hospitality evangelism because what you do is invite your friends and co-workers over to your house and feed them, while also preaching the gospel to them. Another, part of this evangelism is with your children. It is the father’s duty to instruct and discipline his children and wife in the Lord as we discussed earlier in family worship. This is would be part of family worship, but also all throughout your time with your children.
Speaking the Word of God
Point 3. The third rule our text commands us to do in our evangelism is that we must proclaim God’s Word. We are not to proclaim anything else, but God’s Word alone because God brings salvation through the hearing of His Word (Romans 10:17). In evangelism the gospel is always spoken; it is never an act done. You have probably heard the phrase “Preach the gospel always, and if necessary, use words.” This phrase is false for many reasons, but primarily if you are not proclaiming the gospel, then you are not preaching the gospel. Another false philosophy being promoted by many in evangelicalism is to preach the gospel by your actions, that is what the quote above is primarily wanting you to do. This is heretical because if you proclaim the gospel by your actions then you would have to be Christ, you would have to have fully obey God’s Law and died on the cross, then risen from the dead. I know you haven’t done these things and cannot because you are not God.
Now we will look at how the Lord commands us to proclaim His Word. The Lord tells us to speak His Word as our verse says. This word in Greek is λαλέω- la-le-ō- it means to use words to declare something. Another word used in Acts 17:3 where Paul is preaching the gospel in a synagogue is διανοίγω- di-an-oig-ō- this word means to fully open. Thus, Paul was explaining the Word of God through showing the Jews from the Old Testament that Jesus is the Lord. That is also what God commands us to do when we are sharing the gospel. Much of what is known as preaching the gospel is stating some verses then asking the person if they would like to pray a prayer and accept Jesus as Savior. You will find none of these things in God’s Word. Proclaiming the gospel is teaching people the truths about God, man, and Jesus, then exhorting them to repent and trust Christ as Lord (Mark 1:15). Making disciples is not just asking someone if they want to escape hell, but it telling them about the great holiness of God, the utter depravity of mankind and themselves, then telling them about the work of Christ for His elect on the cross and resurrection, finally it is calling them to count the cost to follow Christ. Thus, showing them from God’s Word that Christ is the Lord and must be obeyed, and that that person must submit to Christ as Lord denying himself daily and taking up his cross, through obedient repentful faith in Christ (Luke 9:23-27). The other word used in Acts 17:3 by Paul is παρατίθημι- para-tīth-ēmī- this word means to set before or bring evidence. This word is used as a person in a debate or trial, and it means that the person has already collected and knows the validations of a situation, then he lays them down point by point as in answering objections to prove what is true in comparison to what is false. Therefore, evangelism is more than just declaring some verses, but it is destroying peoples’ false worldviews point by point, then proclaiming point by point the correct doctrine of who God is, who man is, and how man is reconciled back to God (2 Corinthians 10:5-6).
Application
1. In your evangelism you must declare the Word of God to people because by it alone God brings salvation (Romans 10:17).
2. In your evangelism you must expound God’s Word to people clearly and boldly through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit (Acts 17:3). Make sure that those you are evangelizing to understand the gospel and their need to repent and trust Christ as Lord; do not move forward in a conversation if a person does not understand what you are saying. If they are rejecting what you are saying is a different story, if they are rejecting what you are saying, then that moves to the third point.
3. In your evangelism, you must be able to point by point give a dissertation of the gospel and true Christian doctrines. A dissertation is an examination of different viewpoints, then you assert how they are wrong compared and point by point defend and proclaim why your viewpoint is true. You must do this from the Word of God primarily, then using other evidences such a math, logic, and science to help back up God’s Word (1 Peter 3:15).
4. In your evangelism, you must teach the gospel, and not manipulate people into a decision. That is what it means to disciple. To disciple means that you teach someone the correct doctrines of concerning the Lord and urging them to obey Christ in all His commands (Matthew 28:18-20).
Conclusion
To conclude, God has one method of evangelism and that is proclaiming His gospel through the power of the Holy Spirit, in boldness expounding from the Word of God how man can be reconciled to God. In God’s method of evangelism, the church must begin by worshipping the Lord Himself in all three jurisdictions, privately, in the family, and collectively. Secondly, the church must pray together, in each family, and privately for the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom and the conversion of the lost. Thirdly, we must boldly proclaim God’s Word through teaching people the gospel and urging them to repent and trust in Christ as Lord.
